With no background in IT or graphic design I thought that becoming a Wix website designer was completely out of my league! I had a knack for comms. I was clever at Canva and social media content creation. But could I really charge clients for web design? I had dabbled in a number of template-type websites over the years but it wasn't until I gave Wix a second look that I began to see what was possible and took the plunge.
I wished many times in those early days that I would find a course where I could work with a real trainer to answer my questions. I spent hours Googling this and that and typing into the Wix help chat-bot to help me hack the how-to of Wix design. With each website I continued to improve, and so did my income.
Within 6 months of introducing website services to my business I was averaging an extra $2,000 AUD per month in income and regularly had a waitlist of several months as I was fully booked. Within 12 months I reached the Wix Partnership level of Icon.

I've never built a website before, could I still do the course?
Absolutely! The course material will support those who have never built a website before to do so as well as those who have but want to refine their skills and level up.
How much design experience is needed? I'm not that great at creating graphics
Definitely having an eye for detail is an advantage but this isn't something that you can't learn and improve on along the way. That's definitely where the group coaching will come in handy as I will be able to give you feedback on how you can improve. If you love Canva then you'll love building websites in Wix!
Can I do this program to learn how to build and maintain my own website?
Most definitely! In fact we will be building our own website or a client's website as we move through the modules over the first 6 weeks of the program.
What if I've already got a website?
No problem! I would suggest reaching out to clients, family or friends to see if someone would like you to make them a website in exchange for a testimonial or discounted fee (being your first website). You can still work through the process with us as you experiment and hone your skills.
Will we be learning about other website platforms, such as wordpress?
No. This program is learning exclusively about Wix. I started out creating websites on a few template type websites but found that Wix was the most user friendly and the one that always looked the most impressive too.
What kind of technology will I need access to to complete the course?
You will need a Mac or PC laptop or desktop computer that is running the most current software proficiently. This is because without a fully functioning computer you will find creating a website slow and frustrating.
You will need to have good internet connection, Google Chrome (recommended browser regardless of whether Mac or PC) and Zoom for our coaching calls.
I'm not on Facebook. Can I still do the course?
Most definitely! The course is hosted in a learning management platform and our calls are via Zoom. If you're not on FB and you have a question, you can ask me via email or during the coaching calls.
I find different website platform choices confusing. What's so great about Wix?
I'm so glad you asked! Over the years I've had many clients come to me seeking help with a website that they paid someone to build but couldn't maintain themselves. It meant that they would need help for even the smallest of changes and so it continued to cost them money. Wix is so easy, especially for service-based start-ups but is also a platform that can grow WITH yours and your clients business.

She is a Business + Life Coach for femmes who want to design a service-based business around their life and family. She holds a Diploma of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Strategic Coaching and has a background in educational leadership and marketing.
She is the founder of Studio of Soul, a boutique web design studio for femme brands and has a background in educational leadership and marketing, previously working as the Australian Marketing Manager for a global lifestyle brand and Primary School Deputy Principal. She started her first business in 2018 and since then has had a number of entrepreneurial ventures.
